Since 1991 McSorley’s has been a landmark in the heart of Ranelagh.
Family-owned and run, McSorley’s comfortable surroundings and warm atmosphere have ensured its status as one of Dublin’s best-loved bars. With a comprehensive drinks menu and food 7-days a week it is considered a natural choice for sport lovers in the Dublin 6 area.
The COVID-19 Panedemic presented a serious challenge to Irish pubs and restaurants throughout 2020. McSorley’s wanted to adapt their offering to ensure that they still serve and maintain a relationship with their loyal customers.
McSorley’s made the decision to launch an e-commerce website which would allow customers to order draft beer growlers, pints and cocktails within a 5km radius of McSorley’s in compliance with government restrictions.

Light & Modern Website
Stacks Creative was tasked with developing an e-commerce site that would be simple to use and would complement the McSorley’s brand aesthetic.
Considering the sudden nature of the government restrictions the turnaround from concept to working solution had to be fast.
The Solution
The final website design was a mobile-focused e-ecommerce site. Customers could browse McSorley’s drinks offering, add products to cart and select a suitable time-slot for delivery during checkout.
All payments and glass deposit refunds were handled securely through a Stripe integration.

Social Media Ad Campaign
To get the word out about the new site with growlers, pints and cocktails on offer, we ran a social ad campaign which created awareness and drove traffic to the site. There was a strong level of engagement from McSorley’s online community throughout the campaign.
Outcome & Results
In a difficult time for the Irish drinks industry and at a moment that consumers were keen to support local, the McSorley’s online ordering site opened up a new avenue of business with great response from customers both new and old.
Complemented by a few very sunny weekends, the McSorley’s team worked around the clock to drop pints to the doors of its customers during the COVID 19 lock-down.
